The Hon'ble MR. Justice S.SIRI JAGAN
O R D E R
S.SIRI JAGAN, JW.P.(C)NO.11934 of 2007
Dated this the 11th day of April, 2007
The petitioner approached this Court when the second respondent refused to entertain the petitioner's application for a fresh passport under `Tatkal' scheme. The petitioner submits that this was consequent on a direction from the Canadian High Commission on account of the fact that the photograph in the petitioner's passport was not legible. The petitioner submits that since he is already a holder of a passport which has been issued by the Indian Emabassy at Riyadh, there cannot be any impediment for the second respondent to issue a fresh passport urgently. The learned Assistant Solicitor General who takes notice on behalf of the respondents submits that since there are some procedural difficulties prescribed under the passport manual, the second respondent can consider an application for reissue of passport, if the petitioner makes an application for the same. Accordingly, I direct the petitioner to file an application for W.P.(C)No.11934/2007 :2: reissue of his passport. The second respondent shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible. The writ petition is disposed of as above.
