Mr.D.Sasikumar, learned Government Advocate, takes notice on behalf of the respondent.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and also the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent. By consent of the counsels, the writ petition itself is heard and disposed of, finally.

3.This Writ Petition is filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to dispose of the representation of the petitioner, dated 04.01.2007, in view of Sections 21 and 22 of The Madras Estates Land Act, 1908.

4.It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioners that the matter relates to the 3 acres of land situated at Survey No.189/1, Sembattain Kulam Village, Ramanathapuram District, which had been assigned to the petitioner in the year, 1978. The petitioner had submitted several representations, including the representation, dated 04.01.2007 and 29.01.2007, to the respondent. However, the respondent had not disposed of the same till date. Hence, the present writ petition has been preferred by the petitioner for the above said relief.

5.In view of the limited prayer sought for in the writ petition, the respondent is directed to dispose of the representation of the petitioner, dated 04.01.2007, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Further, the petitioner is directed to furnish a copy of the representation, dated 04.01.2007, to the respondent, along with a copy of this order.

6.The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. sms
