The petitioner's appeal against cancellation of his arms licence is pending before the Commissioner, Agra Division, Agra- respondent no.1.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned standing counsel.

The writ petition is disposed of with the direction to the Commissioner, Agra Division, Agra- respondent no.1 to decide the appeal preferred by the petitioner  on 3rd August, 2005 expeditiously in accordance with law within six weeks from the date a certified copy of this order along with a copy of the said appeal is filed before him. It is made clear that the Court has not adjudicated upon the claim on merits. The petitioner shall not seek any adjournment before the Commissioner.
