Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and Sri M.S. Srivastava learned counsel appearing for the respondents.
It has been stated in the petition that as the father of the petitioner was not traceable after 1995, his mother submitted an application on 22nd February, 1996 for giving appointment on compassionate ground and subsequently, another application was moved by the mother with a request to give such an appointment on compassionate ground to the eldest son who is the petitioner in the present petition. It has also been stated that only on 10th June, 2006 the respondents passed an order for payment of post retiral benefits but no order has been passed for giving compassionate appointment to the petitioner.
Learned counsel for the respondents has stated that the respondents shall examine this aspect of the matter and pass an appropriate order expeditiously in accordance with law.
In view of the aforesaid statement, this petition is disposed of with a direction that the application moved by the mother of the petitioner for giving compassionate appointment initially to her and then to her son shall be disposed of expeditiously in accordance with law preferably within a period of six weeks from the date a certified copy of the order is produced by the petitioner before the said respondent. It is, however, made clear that this Court has not examined the issue on merits and it shall be open to the respondents to examine the issue on merits and pass an appropriate order in accordance with the Rules and Regulations.
