HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE OF ALLAHABAD

WP 20365 of 2004

Hon'ble Yatindra Singh, J

Hon'ble Ran Vijai Singh, J

1. This is a writ petition against the GO dated 18.12.2003 by which the State Government has issued guidelines for giving advertisement to the newspapers.

2. We have heard counsel for the petitioner and the standing counsel for the respondents.

3. The counsel for the petitioner has brought to our notice that part of GO by which it is mentioned that daily newspapers will not be registered for grant of advertisement unless and until they have their own press. The State Government has made classification for grant of advertisement to those daily newspapers which have their own press. There is no illegality imposing this condition. The writ petition has no merit. It is dismissed.
