Petitioner Sukhdev Singh alias Nika, apprehending his arrest in a non-bailable offence in case FIR No. 76 dated 1.4.2002 registered under Section 61-1-14 of the Punjab Excise Act at Police Station Division No.4, Jalandhar, has filed this petition under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for the grant of anticipatory bail.
I have heard counsel for the parties and have gone through the contents of the FIR.
Counsel for the petitioner further submits that in terms of the interim order dated November 6, 2006, the petitioner has appeared before the trial court and furnished his regular bail bonds which have been accepted and attested and since then he has been regularly appearing before the court.
In view of the above and for the reasons stated in the aforesaid interim order, without commenting on the merits, the interim bail, granted vide order dated November 6, 2006, is made absolute.
Disposed of accordingly.
