One Jagir Kaur sent a telegram to this Court, which was received on 17.8.2006, alleging therein that her son, namely, Bittu was illegally taken into custody by Police of Police Station Gharinda.
Pursuant to the notice issued, reply by way of affidavit of Deputy Superintendent of Police Rural-II, Amritsar has been filed on behalf of respondent-State in Court today and the same is taken on record. In the reply, it has been stated that the son of the petitioner, namely, Angrej Singh @ Bittu was arrested on 13.8.2006 in case FIR No. 77 dated 13.8.2006 under Sections 379/411 IPC, registered at Police Station Gharinda. It has further been stated that the alleged accused was produced before the Ilaqa Magistrate on 14.8.2006 and thereafter he was sent in a judicial custody but lateron he was released on bail by the concerned Court.
In view of the aforesaid reply, no further direction is required to be issued.
