The petitioner who is a class IV employee has knocked the doors of this Court making a grievance that salary has not been paid to him since December 15, 2005.
Sh. B.S.Chahal, AAG, Punjab appearing on behalf of the respondents, on instructions from Achhar Singh, Executive Engineer, Irrigation Development Investigation Division No.1-respondent No.6, states that necessary sanction has not been received from the Government so far.
Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the case and also that the petitioner is merely a sweeper-cum-chowkidar who is managing without the payment for a period of more than eight months, we dispose of the present petition with a direction to the Chief Engineer, K.A.D., Irrigation Department, Punjab-respondent No.4 to release the salary and arrears of the petitioner within a period of 15 days from today. It is made clear that if the salary and arrears are not released to the petitioner within the aforesaid period then proceedings under the Contempt of Court's Act shall be made liable to be initiated against the aforesaid respondent.
A copy of the order be given under the signatures of the Bench Secretary.
