Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that despite the fact that a petition under Section 42 of the East Punjab Holdings (Consolidation and Prevention of Fragmentation) Act, 1948 ( in short 'the Act, 1948'), has been filed before the respondent No.1 for partition of Bachat Land in the year 2002, but till date no final decision has been taken by the competent authority.
After hearing the learned counsel for the petitioners, we dispose of the present writ petition with a direction to respondent No. 1 to decide the petition under Section 42 of the Act, 1948, filed by the petitioners expeditiously.
