   Heard counsel for the parties and perused the record.  With the consent of counsel for the parties, the case is being decided at the admission stage itsef.

   The case of the petitioner is that he was initially appointed as Godown Clerk in the department of Food and Agriculture on 21.9.1961 and later on his services were transferred to Food Corporation of India.  On 20.8.1992, the Food Corporation of India issues circular for removing the pay anomalies between the junior and senior employees working in the same cadre.  Accordingly, the petitioner submitted proposal for stepping up his salary, vis-à-vis to his junior Sri S.K. Chaturvedi.  The same is still pending before the Manager (P&IR), Food Corporation of India, New Delhi.

  The only prayer of counsel for the petitioner, is that the proposal dated 6.3.1999 (Annexure 3 to the writ petition) of the petitioner  be directed to be decided by respondent no.3 within some time frame to which counsel for the respondents  has no objection.

   Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with the direction to the respondent no. 3 to decide the proposal dated 6.3.1999 of the petitioner, contained in Annexure 3 to the writ petition, by a reasoned and speaking order in accordance with law within a month from the date of production of a certified copy of this order. No order as to costs.
